Congratulations on your purchase of a high-quality Insignia product. Your NS-DH30WH9-C, NS-DH50WH9, NS-DH70WH9, NS-DH50WH9-C, or NS-DH70WH9-C represents the state of the art in dehumidifier design and is designed for reliable and trouble-free performance.

- Do not use your dehumidifier near water.
- Before cleaning, turn off your dehumidifier and unplug it.
- Clean only with a damp cloth.
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Do not install your dehumidifier in small spaces.
- Do not install near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where it exits from your dehumidifier.
- Do not attempt to modify or extend the power cord of your dehumidifier.
- Unplug your dehumidifier during lightning storms or when it will not be used for long periods of time.
- Make sure that the available AC power matches the voltage requirements of your dehumidifier.
- Do not insert your fingers or other objects into the grills or openings.
- Do not handle the plug with wet hands. This could result in an electric shock.
- Unplug the power cord by holding the plug, never by pulling the cord.
- Turn off your dehumidifier before unplugging it.
- Turn off your dehumidifier before removing the water bucket.
- Do not use your dehumidifier near flammable gas or combustibles, such as gasoline, benzene, thinner, etc. It may cause
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when your dehumidifier has been damaged in any way, such as the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into your dehumidifier, your dehumidifier has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose your dehumidifier to rain, moisture, dripping, or splashing, and no objects filled with liquids should be placed on top of it.
- Do not use extension cords or ungrounded (two prong) adapters. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician install an outlet near your dehumidifier. Use of an extension cord can negatively affect your dehumidifier’s performance.
- Your dehumidifier is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of your dehumidifier by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with your dehumidifier.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified person, in to avoid a hazard.

Electric Shock Hazard
Failure to follow these instructions can result in electric shock, fire, or death.
- WARNING-Keep ventilation openings, in both your dehumidifier and the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
- Unplug your dehumidifier before carrying out user maintenance on it.
- If a component part is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similar qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Your dehumidifier is intended to be used in household and similar environments.
- Do not store or use gasoline or any flammable liquids inside or in the vicinity of your dehumidifier.
- If your dehumidifier is knocked over during use, turn off your dehumidifier and unplug it from the power supply.
Grounding requirement
Your dehumidifier must be grounded. Your dehumidifier is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an outlet that is correctly installed and grounded. Incorrect use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or service person if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to whether your dehumidifier is correctly grounded.

Before using your dehumidifier
- Remove the power cord storage bracket from your dehumidifier’s bucket, then insert the power cord storage bracket into the back of your dehumidifier. The power cord storage bracket will click into place.
- Make sure that there is at least 8 inches (20.3 centimeters) of space on all sides of the unit, with 16 inches (40.6 centimeters) of space on the side with the air outlet.
Note: Your dehumidifier is more efficient when in a closed room, but it can be used in a room with the doors open to dehumidify a larger area.
- Make sure that your dehumidifier is in an area where temperatures will not fall below 41° F (5° C).
- Make sure that your dehumidifier is placed away from any heat sources.
- Place your dehumidifier on a smooth, level floor.
Using your dehumidifier
- Plug your dehumidifier’s power plug into a power outlet.
- Press the Power button, then set your dehumidifier to the desired humidity level.
Setting the humidity level
- For drier air, press the – button to set a lower humidity level.
- For damper air, press the + button to set a higher humidity level.
Note: The humidity level can be set to 35-85% humidity, and it increases or decreases in increments of 5%.
Setting the Power On and Power Off timers
Your dehumidifier has the option to set a timer to turn it on and to turn it off. When you set the Power On or Power Off timers, the On or Off LED indicators light to remind you which timers have been set.
Notes:
- The timer settings are one-time use and will need to be set each time you want your dehumidifier to turn on and off by itself.
- You do not have to use the Power On and Power Off timers together. You can set one or the other.
- Turning your dehumidifier on or off at any time or adjusting the timer setting to 0.0 will cancel the timer function.
- If the LED display shows P2, the timer function will cancel. The P2 error code displays when the water bucket is full or is not in the right position.
Setting the Power On timer
- Press Timer until the On LED indicator is lit.
- Use the + buttons to select the number of hours before your dehumidifier will automatically turn on, then wait for the LED display to return to its previous state. The setting is saved.
Note: The + buttons increment by 0.5 hours up to 10 hours. After you reach 10, the + buttons increment by 1 hour up to 24 hours.
Setting the Power Off timer
- Press Timer until the Off LED indicator is lit.
- Use the + buttons to select the number of hours before your dehumidifier will automatically turn off, then wait for the LED display to return to its previous state. The setting is saved.
Note: The + buttons increment by 0.5 hours up to 10 hours. After you reach 10, the + buttons increment by 1 hour up to 24 hours.
Removing collected water with the bucket
- When the bucket full indicator lights, remove the bucket from your dehumidifier.
- Pour the water out, then reinsert the bucket into your dehumidifier.
Notes:
- When the bucket is full, your dehumidifier automatically turns off and the bucket full indicator lights.
- Your dehumidifier will automatically restart when the bucket is back in place.
- If you remove the bucket while your dehumidifier is running, the LED display shows P2 and your dehumidifier stops running.
Removing collected water with continuous draining
- Remove the plastic cover from the continuous back drain outlet, then screw the drain hose (not included) onto the drain outlet.
- Direct the hose towards a floor drain.
Note: Make sure there are no kinks in the hose, as they may stop collected water from draining.
Maintaining your dehumidifier
Before maintaining your dehumidifier
- Turn your dehumidifier off.
- Disconnect your dehumidifier’s plug from the power supply.
Cleaning the grill and case
- Use water and a mild detergent to clean the grill and case.
- Use a vacuum cleaner or brush to clean the air intake.
Note: Do not splash water directly onto your dehumidifier. Doing so may cause an electrical: chock. deterioration of the insulation. or
Cleaning the bucket
- Remove the bucket from your dehumidifier, then fill the bucket with water and a mild detergent.
- Swish the water and detergent around in the bucket, then empty and rinse the bucket.
- Let the bucket air dry or dry it with a cloth, then place it back into your dehumidifier.
Notes:
- Clean the bucket every few weeks to prevent growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria.
- Do not use a dishwasher to clean the bucket.
Cleaning the air filter
The air filter should be cleaned after 250 hours of use. The Filter Reset LED indicator lights up after 250 hours of use to indicate when to clean the filter.
- Remove the air filter by pulling it outwards.
- Wash the filter with water, then let it air dry.
- Reinstall the filter, then press Filter Reset.
Caution: Do not use your dehumidifier without a filter. Doing so may damager your dehumidifier. Storing your dehumidifier
- Let your dehumidifier rest for one full day so that it can air dry.
- Clean the grill, case, bucket, and air filter.
- Wrap the power cord around the power cord buckle.
- Cover your dehumidifier with a plastic bag.
- Store the unit upright in a dry, well-ventilated area.
