Get to know your Fire TV Blaster
LED Indicators
- Solid blue: communicating with equipment
- Blinks blue/cyan: setup in progress
- Purple: setup timed out
- Solid orange: no network connection
- Off: The device is functioning
Positioning your Fire TV Blaster
Place your Fire TV Blaster 30 to 60 cm away from devices you would like to control with the LED facing where you usually sit.
Fire TV Blaster requires a compatible Fire TV device and Echo smart speaker and adds voice control to compatible entertainment devices, such as your TV, soundbar, and receiver. Learn more at www.amazon.com/FireTVBlaster-Compatibility. It should be positioned within the line of sight of your equipment and should not be obstructed or placed in a closed cabinet.
Controlling in-cabinet devices
To control entertainment components that are inside a closed cabinet, use the optional IR extender cable by plugging it into the back of your Fire TV Blaster as shown.
Place the IR extender cable on the same shelf as the devices you want to control (1). For devices on multiple shelves, place the IR extender cable on the lowest shelf (2)
Set up your Fire TV Blaster Before
You start, make sure that you have your Echo and Fire TV device set up and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Plug your Fire TV Blaster into an electrical outlet using the included power adapter and cable.
- Download the latest version of the free Fire TV app from the app store.
- Open the Fire TV app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your Fire TV Blaster.
- Once your device is discovered and connected to the network, follow on-screen instructions to set up your Fire TV Blaster and configure your TV, soundbar, and other compatible IR remote-controlled devices.
- To enable additional hands-free voice control, open the Alexa app to pair your Echo and Fire TV devices. Control your TV and sound devices Follow the on-screen instructions in the Fire TV app to set up new entertainment devices. Alexa, volume up. Alexa, turn on the TV. Alexa. turn off my receiver
