Thank you for purchasing the Jabra A210 Bluetooth® Adapter. The Jabra A210 provides a wireless Bluetooth connection between your non-Bluetooth mobile phone and your Jabra Bluetooth headset or speakerphone, so you can enjoy the comfort and convenience of hands-free communication with your mobile phone.

Drive safely
Using a mobile phone while driving creates a distraction to the driver which may increase the likelihood of an accident. When using the phone while driving, keep conversations short and do not make notes or read documents. Before answering calls consider your circumstances. Pull off the road and park before making or answering calls when driving conditions require (e.g. bad weather, high traffic density, presence of children in the car, difficult junctions or maneuvers.

BEFORE USING YOUR Jabra A210 BLUETOOTH ADAPTER

The Jabra A210 is designed to be simple to operate with a minimum of control buttons. Buttons on the Bluetooth adapter and your Jabra headset or speakerphone will provide alternative operations depending on the length of time they are pressed.

Charge Jabra A210
The Jabra A210 uses a rechargeable battery that must be charged fully before you use the adapter for the first time.

1. Use the AC adapter to charge the Jabra A210 from a power socket. (See Fig.2). Only use a Jabra adapter to charge the Jabra A210.
2. The red light (LED) will turn on when charging begins. After approximately 2 hours the red LED will turn off, indicating that charging is complete.

NOTE: The red LED will flash when the battery is low. You can continue to use your Jabra A210 Bluetooth adapter while charging. You are now ready to “pair” the Jabra A210 with your Jabra Bluetooth headset or speakerphone. (See Section 2)

“Pair” with your Bluetooth headset

Before you can get started, you will need to pair your Jabra A210 Bluetooth adapter with your headset or speakerphone.

1. Turn your Jabra A210 on with a press of the on/off button. The blue light (LED) shows a burst of flashes and thereafter continues to flash every 3 seconds.
2. Put your Jabra Bluetooth headset or speakerphone into pairing mode by following the instructions in its user guide.
3. . Put your Jabra A210 into pairing mode by pressing the pairing stylus switch marked with the stylus. When the blue LED turns solid blue the adapter is in pairing mode.
4. The pairing is complete when the blue LED flashes every 3 seconds.

Adjust the setting to suit your phone

To optimize the operation of the Jabra A210 with your mobile phone, adjust the “3-position setting switch” (See Fig. 3).

• Set the switch to position 1 if you are using a Motorola phone
• Set the switch to position 3 for all other phone makes
• If you experience echo when using your phone, move the switch to position 2
• If you continue to hear an echo turn down the volume on the headset.

The headset does not have to be on to adjust the 3-position setting switch.

USING YOUR Jabra A210 BLUETOOTH ADAPTER 
To use your Jabra A210 Bluetooth adapter, ensure it is switched on and plugged into the headset jack in your mobile phone. NOTE: For complete instructions on operating your Jabra headset, please refer to the headset’s user manual.

Turning the Jabra A210 On and Off

To turn the adapter on, press the on/off button. The blue light (LED) shows a burst of flashes and thereafter continues to flash every 3 seconds. To turn the adapter off, press and hold the on/off button for 5 seconds. NOTE: The blue LED will turn off after 5 minutes. To check if your Bluetooth adapter is on, just tap on the on/off button, and the blue LED will resume flashing. If the blue LED is not responding, the adapter is turned off.

To save power, your Jabra A210 Bluetooth adapter goes automatically into standby mode one minute after usage. Do not use keypad tones with your Jabra A210 as this will affect the battery performance.

Making or receiving a call 
Make or receive calls using your phone’s keypad in the usual way. The call is automatically transferred to your headset. NOTE: If the phone does not respond to a ‘tap’ of the headset’s answer/end button, for example ending a call or activating voice-dialing, press the button for a little longer. Please refer to page 3 for an explanation of Tap, Press and Press and hold.

Experiencing Problems?
If you experience problems with the connection between the Jabra A210 and your Jabra Bluetooth headset or speakerphone, it is advisable to reset the adapter. To reset your adapter, press the pairing button and the on/off button at the same time.

Storage of the Jabra A210 

1. Always store the Jabra A210 with power off and safely protected.
2. Avoid storage at high temperatures (above 45°C / 113°F) – such as direct sunlight. (Storage at high temperatures can degrade performance and reduce battery life). Low temperatures (down to –10°C / 14°F will shorten battery life and may affect operation but should not permanently damage the Jabra A210.
3. Do not expose the Jabra A210 to rain or other liquids.

Jabra warrants to Purchaser that for a period of one (1) year after the date of purchase (the “Warranty Period”) of any Jabra Product (“Product”) by Purchaser, the Product will substantially conform to Jabra’s published specifications for the Product on the date of Purchaser’s purchase of the Product, subject to the terms herein. Purchaser shall notify Jabra of any nonconformance during the Warranty Period and obtain a written return material authorization (“RMA”) and an RMA number for the nonconforming

Product from Jabra and return the nonconforming Product to Jabra, freight prepaid, with a statement describing the nonconformity. Jabra’s exclusive obligation with respect to nonconforming Product shall be, at Jabra’s option and expense, to repair or replace such Product so that it substantially conforms with its published specifications on the date of Purchaser’s purchase, or, if Jabra, in Jabra’s sole discretion, determines that it is not possible to repair or replace the Product, Jabra may, at Jabra’s option, refund to Purchaser the purchase price paid for the Product.

THE FOREGOING IS PURCHASER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY BY JABRA WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCT. The warranty set forth above shall not apply to any Product which has not been properly used or handled in accordance with the instructions supplied by Jabra, lost or misplaced for any reason, or which has been modified, repaired or altered, except by Jabra or at a Jabra authorized service facility, or which has been subjected to faulty installation, misuse, abuse, or which the Product defect is attributable to any failure or damage which is beyond the reasonable control of Jabra.

This warranty is available only to Purchaser, and does not extend to any distributors, retailers, or other resellers of the Product.  Transfer of Jabra products through any unauthorized distributor renders our manufacturer’s warranty null and void. BUYER BEWARE: any Jabra product sold by a private party or unauthorized distributor and not by an authorized Jabra retail seller is sold on an “as is” or “with all faults” basis with respect to Jabra.

As such, the entire risk as to the quality and performance of such products will be with the buyer if the unauthorized distributor will not cover the costs of repairing defects. Should such products prove defective following their purchase, the buyer or unauthorized distributor, and not the manufacturer or its authorized retail sellers, assumes the entire cost of all necessary servicing or repair. Therefore, buyers are strongly encouraged to purchase Jabra products only from Jabra-authorized retail sellers.

Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Users are not permitted to make changes or modify the device in any way. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Jabra will void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.

However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
