Dear customer

Congratulations on choosing to buy the AMP1250 multi-channel amplifier and thank you for entrusting us with your confidence in our product. The Artsound AMP1250 is one of the most versatile and reliable multi-channel amplifiers on the market. The design of the product takes into account the wishes of both the end-user and the technician as much as possible.

Warnings and safety!

Because the device generates heat when used, it needs to be positioned in a well-ventilated place, so it should not be put in a concealed space, such as a cupboard. KEEP THE VENTILATION SLATS FREE AT ALL TIMES. These can be found on the top and underside of the device.  Do not place the device on a soft surface or furnishings (e.g. carpet or fabric) or next to curtains. TO PREVENT FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCKS, THE DEVICE MUST NOT BE EXPOSED TO RAIN OR HUMIDITY.

For your safety: to prevent electric shocks do not remove the housing. Do not try to repair any malfunctioning parts of the device yourself. Ask a professional expert to do this for you. When plugged into the mains, the device remains electrically charged even when switched off. Pull the plug out of the wall socket whenever the device is not being used for longer periods. Hold the plug to do this, not the cable.

Installation:

Unpacking:
Keep the packaging in case of transport or if you need to send it back for repairs.

Positioning:
Place the amplifier in a well-ventilated spot where there is no exposure to sunlight or humidity. The amplifier must be positioned on its support legs to allow good ventilation. Ensure that the surface is solid and stable.

Connection to the mains:
Ensure that the amplifier is connected to the mains via a properly installed wall socket.

Connecting the loudspeakers:
Ensure that the amplifier is disconnected from the mains before connecting the loudspeakers. Use a quality cable such as the Oehlbach loudspeaker cable. The loudspeaker wires can best be sealed using gold-plated banana plugs. Take care that the polarity of the loudspeaker connection – red (+) and black (-) – is correct.

Connecting music sources:

Use quality interconnect cables, cinch, such as Oehlbach. A music source for one stereo channel. It’s possible to connect a music source to the individual line inputs of the amplifier (fig.1, 6) Set the accompanying jumpers on ‘IN’ One music source for several channels:

A single music source can be listened to via several different amplifier channels (zones). To do this, connect the music source to the bus connectors indicated L/R. (figure 1, 5) Place the jumpers on L or R for the channels through which you wish to listen to the music source. AUX input: The AUX is a common mono input. If you wish to use this input, set the channel jumpers to AUX for all channels that receive their signal from this input.

Volume control:
Each amplifier channel has its volume control. Use a small screwdriver to set the maximum volume of each channel individually.

Auto on:
If an audio signal is transmitted to the line input, the respective channel will be started.

Bridging channels.
Two channels can generate a capacity of around 100W to a loudspeaker of 8 ohms. The switch (2) must be adjusted to the ‘bridge’ setting to do this. The loudspeaker is then connected to the 2 red clamps on the loudspeaker connection. The odd-numbered line input of the channels in question is then used for the signal input. For example, if channels 1 and 2 are used in the ‘bridge’ setting, signal input 1 is used. Only the jumpers for the odd-numbered inputs are used.

Overview of connections:

  1. Loudspeaker connection.
  2. Bridge switch.
  3. Volume setting.
  4. Routing setting (jumpers).
  5. Common line inputs.
  6. Individual line input.
  7. Line outputs (looped through to another amplifier).
  8. AC connection.

See Fig. 1

Examples of installations:

A single source for all zones:
A single source can be heard in all 6 zones. Each zone has its volume control. All jumpers are positioned on L /R. The common input is used as input (L/R)

See Fig. 2

Connection to a multiroom system.
Up to 6 stereo channel zones can be additionally amplified. In the example above, 4 extra zones have been amplified. The jumpers for the channels used are positioned on ‘IN’.

See Fig. 3

Warranty

There is a warranty of 2 years on the device from the date of purchase. The warranty is valid for the normal use of the device only. The warranty is no longer valid in the event of improper use or after repairs have been carried out by a non-qualified person.
