It is important that you read these instructions before using your portable ice maker and we strongly recommend that you keep them in a safe place for future reference

PREPARING YOUR ICE MAKER FOR USE

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed to reduce the risk of fi re, electric shock, and injury to persons or property. Read all instructions before using any appliance

•  Do not operate this or any other appliance with a damaged cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualifi ed person in order to avoid a hazard. This ice-maker must be positioned so that the plug is accessible. Connect to properly polarized outlets only. No other appliance should be plugged into the same outlet. Be sure that the plug is fully inserted into the receptacle.
• Do not run the power cord over carpeting or other heat insulators. Do not cover the cord. Keep cord away from high traffic areas, and do not submerge in water.
• We do not recommend the use of an extension cord, as it may overheat and become a risk of fi re. If you must use an extension cord, use No.14AWG minimum size and rated no less than 1875 watts.
• Unplug the ice maker before cleaning, making any repairs or servicing.
• Exercise caution and use reasonable supervision when appliance is used near children.
• Do not use your ice-maker outdoors. Place the ice-maker away from direct sunlight. Make sure that there is at least 4 inches of unobstructed space between each side of your unit.
• Do not use any other liquid to make ice cubes other than water.
• Do not clean your ice maker with fl ammable fluids. The fumes can create a fi re hazard or explosion.
• Do not tip over.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• If the ice maker is brought in from outside storage in wintertime, give it a few hours to warm up to room temperature before plugging it in. Let the unit stand in upright position for 4 hours (if transported in a position other than the normal operations position.)
  WARNING:

  The wires in this mains lead are colored in accordance with the following code:
  Green or Green with a yellow stripe: ——– Ground
  White: ——– Neutral
  Black: ——– Live
• To avoid a hazard due to instability of the appliance, it must be placed on an even or flat surface.

OPERATING PROCEDURES & MAINTENANCE

UNPACKING YOUR ICE MAKER

1. Remove the exterior and interior packaging. Ensure that ice basket and ice scoop are inside. If any parts are missing, please contact our customer service.
2. Remove the adhesives securing the ice shovel, ice basket & ice scoop. Clean the tank & ice basket.
3. Put the ice maker on a level & fl at counter top without direct sunlight and other sources of heat (i.e.: stove, furnace, radiator). Maker sure that there is at least a 4 inchegap between the back & left hand / right hand sides with the wall.
4. Allow 4 hours to pass for the refrigerant fl uid to settle before plugging the ice maker in.
5. The appliance must be positioned so that the plug and outlet are easily accessible

CONNECTING YOUR ICE MAKER

DANGER:

•  Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of
  electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged please call our
  customer service

1. This unit should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a three-prong plug which mates with standard three prong wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electric shock.
2. This appliance requires a standard 110-120volt, 60Hz electrical outlet with three-prong ground.

CLEANING AND MAINTAINING YOUR ICE MAKER

Before using your ice maker, it is strongly recommended to clean it thoroughly.

1. Take out the ice basket.
2. Clean the interior with diluted detergent, warm water and a soft cloth.
3. Then, use water to rinse the inside parts, and drain out the water by unplugging the drain cap on the front bottom side.
4. The outside of the ice maker should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent solution and warm water.
5. Dry the interior and exterior with a clean soft cloth.
6. When the machine is not to be used for a long time, drain water completely & dry the interior

USING YOUR ICE MAKER

1. Open the cover, remove the ice basket and pour water into tank. Keep water level below the water level mark.
2. Press “Power” button on the control panel to begin the ice making cycle.
3. Select the ice cube size by pressing the “Select” button. If the room temperature is lower than 60°F (15.5°C) , it is recommended to select small ice cube in order to avoid ice sticking together.
4. The ice making cycle lasts approx. 6 to 13 minutes, depending on seletion of ice cube size and the room temperature. The recommended room temperature is 50°F to 105°F (10°C to 40.5°C).
5. If water pump can’t inject water, the ice maker will stop automatically, and the “Add Water” indicator will be on. Press “Power” button, fi ll water up to the max. water level mark and press “Power” button again to turn on the unit again. Allow the refrigerant liquid inside the compressor at least 3 minutes to settle before restarting.
6. The ice maker stops when the ice basket is full and the “Ice” indicator turns on. Warning: Direct sunlight or sunlight refl ection may cause infared sensor malfunction. If the unit doesn’t stop until ice cubes obstruct the sensor, move the unit away from light.
7. Change water in the water reservoir every 24 hours to ensure a safe hygiene level. If the unit isn’t to be used, drain all the water and dry the tank

*NOTE: Ice will not stay frozen if it is left in basket for an extended period of time.

LIMITED APPLIANCE WARRANTY

This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating conditions intended by the manufacturer. This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter “Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.

TERMS OF WARRANTY

Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided. First Year During the first twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser. To obtain It will be the consumer’s responsibility to transport the appliance (at their own expense) to the original retailer (point of purchase) or a Service service depot for repair. Contact your dealer from whom your unit was purchased, or contact your nearest authorized Danby service
depot, where service must be performed by a qualified service technician. If service is performed on the unit by anyone other than an authorized service depot, or the unit is used for commercial application, all obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be void. Nothing within this warranty shall imply that Danby will be responsible or liable for any spoilage or damage to food or other contents of this appliance, whether due to any defect of the appliance, or its use, whether proper or improper.

EXCLUSIONS

Save as herein provided, Danby, there are no other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, express or implied, made or intended by Danby or its authorized distributors and all other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, including any warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees under any Sale of Goods Act or like legislation or statue is hereby expressly excluded. Save as herein provided, Danby shall not be responsible for any damages to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction of the unit and by the purchase of the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Danby from any claim for damages to persons or property caused by the unit.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

No warranty or insurance herein contained or set out shall apply when damage or repair is caused by any of the following

1. Power failure.
2. Damage in transit or when moving the appliance.
3. Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective house wiring or inadequate fuses.
4. Accident, alteration, abuse or misuse of the appliance such as inadequate air circulation in the room or abnormal operating conditions (extremely high or low room temperature).
5. Use for commercial or industrial purposes (ie. If the appliance is not installed in a domestic residence).
6. Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility, acts of God such as hurricanes, floods etc.
7. Service calls resulting in customer education. Improper Installation (ie. Building-in of a free standing appliance or using an appliance outdoors that is not approved for outdoor application).
   Proof of purchase date will be required for warranty claims; so, please retain bill of sale. In the event warranty service is required, present this document to our AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEPOT
