WARNINGS

  • IMPORTANT – This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
  • To avoid fire or shock hazards, plug the appliance directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
  • Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas. To avoid fire hazards, NEVER put the cord under rugs, near heat registers, radiators, stoves, or heaters.
  • To protect against electrical hazards, DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids. Do not use near water.
  • Children cannot recognize the hazards associated with the usage of electrical appliances. For this reason, always supervise children when they are near the unit.
  • Always unplug the air purifier before moving it, opening the grill, changing filters, cleaning, or whenever the air purifier is not in use. Be sure to pull by the plug and not the cord.
  • NEVER drop or insert any object into any openings.
  • DO NOT run a cord under the carpeting.
  • DO NOT cover the cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings.
  • DO NOT route the cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange the cord away from the traffic area so that it will not be tripped over.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

SET UP

  1. Select a firm, level, and flat location for the air purifier.
  2. Carefully remove your air purifier from the box and bag.
  3. Determine the preferred position of the purifier based on space and preference.

FILTER REPLACEMENT

To maintain the performance of the air cleaner, it is recommended that the filter be replaced about every 6 months. The replacement requirements will vary depending on usage and environmental conditions.

  1. It’s time to replace the filter when the white HEPA cartridge portion has changed from white to grey or black.
    OR
  2. A filter date wheel is also built into the rear of the unit to track your filter changes. Simply set the wheel 6 months ahead of when it is replaced as a reminder. The wheel is marked with the months of the year (Figure 3)

UV-C BULB REPLACEMENT

  1. Lift and remove the Rear Cover from the unit

  2. After removing the Rear Cover from the unit, remove the Combination Filter.

  3. After removing the Combination Filter, use a Philips head screwdriver to remove the screw and detach the UV-C Shield.

  4. The UV-C Bulb is removed by carefully grasping the bulb with a clean cloth or tissue and pulling the bulb straight out of the unit (Figure 4).

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

GENERAL CLEANING
NEVER use alcohol or other solvents. Note: Do NOT stick any foreign objects or your fingers inside the unit

  1. Wipe the surface of the unit with a clean, dry soft cloth as needed.
  2. Clean the Filter monthly with the brush of your vacuum cleaner.
  3. Remove and Clean (or Replace) Filter.

  • a. Lift and remove the Rear Cover from the unit.

  • b. Remove the Combination Filter from the unit. Note: Pre-Filter/Charcoal is affixed to HEPA Filter with Velcro.

  • c. Separate and clean both filter layers with the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner to remove lint and dust. IMPORTANT: Do NOT try to wash and re-use the Combination Filter.

  • d. Insert Combination Filter into the unit with the HEPA portion facing into the unit. Consult the arrow on the filter for the correct installation direction.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

PROBLEMSOLUTION
The unit does not operate.Check that the unit is plugged in.
The unit shuts off unexpectedly.Check that the unit is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

Check that the HEPA Filter is firmly in place.

Check that the Front Cover is latched firmly in place. Call Customer Service.

No air circulating from the unit.Unplug unit. Check Pre-Filter/Charcoal and HEPA Filters. Clean Pre-Filter/Charcoal if necessary.

Replace HEPA Filter if necessary.

Increase in noise level.Make sure the filters are clean. Replace if necessary.
An unpleasant odor is emitted from the unit.Make sure the filters are clean. Replace if necessary.

LIMITED WARRANTY

To the consumer, Guardian Technologies LLC warrants this product to be free of defects in materials or workmanship commencing upon the date of the original purchase. Save your original sales receipt to validate the start of the warranty period. If this product should become defective within the warranty period, we will repair or replace any defective parts free of charge.

Please include complete information on the problem, the day of purchase, a copy of the original sales receipt, and your name, address, and telephone number. If you are not near a warranty station, call the factory for assistance in the US and Canada at 1-866-603-5900. Use only genuine Guardian Technologies replacement parts. The warranty does not include unusual wear, damage resulting from an accident, or unreasonable use of the product.
