TROUBLESHOOTING

ProblemPossible Solution
Outdoor reading is flashing or showing dashesFlashing of the outdoor reading is generally an indication of wireless interference.
  1. Bring both the sensor and display indoors, side by side and remove batteries from each.
  2. Make sure the 1-2-3 switch on both units match.
  3. Reload batteries in outdoor sensor.
  4. Reload batteries in main unit.
  5. Let both units sit within a couple feet of each other for a few minutes to gain a strong connection before taking sensor to outdoor area.
No outdoor sensor reception
  1. Reload the batteries of both outdoor sensor and main unit. Please refer to the SENSOR SETUP section.
  2. Relocate the main unit and/or the outdoor sensor.
The units must be within 328ft(100m) of each other.
  1. Make sure both units are placed at least 3 ft (0.9 m) away from electronics that may interfere with the wireless communication (such as TVs, microwaves, computers, etc).
  2. Use standard alkaline batteries. Do not use heavy duty or rechargeable batteries.
Inaccurate temperature/ humidityMake sure both the main unit and sensor are placed out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources or vents.
“HH.H/LL.L” display in indoor and/or outdoor temperatureIf the temperature is higher than the detection range, “HH.H” will display on screen for indication; if lower than the detection range, “LL.L” will display on screen for indication.

FAQS

How does my weather station work?
At the most basic level, an automatic weather station works by measuring atmospheric conditions and transmitting them to a network, forecaster, or display. They use special instruments to measure the surface weather observations we mentioned above.
How do I reset my weather station?
Condition so after the 15 minutes insert new batteries into the sensor. And then into the back of the station. And then finally reconnect the power.
Some weather stations connect to a central server or data collection system via a wired network (e.g., Ethernet) and therefore do not require a wireless network
Why is my weather station flashing?
If the forecast icon is flashing, this indicates there is a rapid drop in barometric pressure, and a storm is predicted.
How do I set weather clear?
Just type slash weather. And then type clear. That’s. It just slash weather clear. Now for whatever reason you do need some rain you can type slash weather rain.
How do I add a weather station to Weather Underground?
Create an account on WUnderground.com and Add New Device. Select the correct device hardware under Personal Weather Station then enter the requested information. Once your station is created you will be provided with a Station ID and Station Key.
What is the principle of a weather station?
Weather stations are devices that utilize meteorological sensors to measure various environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, wind direction, and precipitation.
What are the disadvantages of the automatic weather station?
  • Accuracy and Calibration
  • Maintenance and Downtime
  • Limited Spatial Coverage
  • Environmental Considerations
  • Cost and Accessibility
What affects location of a weather station?
Wind, air temperature, and water vapor pressure measurements are affected by surface type and roughness, soil moisture, regional topography, and obstructions.
What is the main purpose of weather station?
A weather station is a facility, either on land or sea, with instruments and equipment for measuring atmospheric conditions to provide information for weather forecasts and to study the weather and climate.
