Candy & Oil Bluetooth Thermometer

Congratulations on your purchase of a Maverick Bluetooth Candy & Oil Thermometer. Use Bluetooth to monitor Candy and Oil temperature settings on your Apple or Android device while you are cooking. (Note: The Thermometer can be used alone without connecting to your device.)

  1. Download the iChef Candy & Oil Thermometer App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for Android. Open the App on your phone or tablet.
  2. Into the back of the Thermometer insert the #2032 battery. At the top of Thermometer, there are two buttons. The Power Button is on the left; the Bluetooth Connection Button is on the right.

  3.  Press the power button (left side) until the temperature appears on the LCD screen. Press the Bluetooth Connection Button (right side).
  4. On the App first page press “Maverick code” (Maverick 12345F1 or another number) to connect your device to the Thermometer. Your App and Thermometer are ready to use.

  5. On the App second page Choose a Thermometer (F or °C). Select Deep Fry. Press top 3 Icons for Oil Tips, Frying Tips and Safety & Cleaning Tips. Press lower Icons for food to be cooked and Cooking Tips for specific foods.
  6. Actual temperature appears on top Red Bar. Suggested cooking temperature for each food appears on lower Black Bar. Tap arrows to raise o lower Suggested Temperature according to your recipe. At 10 degrees Fahrenheit / 5.0 degrees Celsius approx. before the Oil Set Temperature is reached, an Alert Signal will beep on your device. (Tap Red Bar to stop beep.) When Set Temperatur is reached you will hear a Second Signal.
  7. On App second page Select Candy. Press top icon for Candy Tips. Press a lower icon for type of candy being made. Actual temperature appears on top Red Bar. Suggested Temperature for each cooked sugar stage appears on the Black Bar. Tap Arrows to raise or lower Suggested Temperature according to your recipe. At 3-degrees Fahrenheit / 1.5 degree Celsius approx. before the Candy Set Temperature is reached, an Alert Signal will beep on your device. (Tap Red Bar to stop beep.) When Set Temperature is reached you will hear a Second Signal.
  8. Scroll down below Candy icons to reach Chocolate. Press Chocolate Tips. Press each Chocolate Icon for specific Tips and Tempering Instructions for Dark, Milk and White Chocolate.
  9. At any time you can return to the previous page by tapping the arrow at top left of the screen.
