WARNING:
- Do not leave the appliance when plugged in. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before servicing.
- Do not use it outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not allow it to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Use only as described in this manual. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
- Do not use a damaged cord or plug. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center for inspection. Call 1-800-321-1 134 for the nearest service center.
- Do not pull or carry by cord, use the cord as a handle, close a door on the cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners.
- Do not run the appliance over the cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not handle plugs or appliances with wet hands.
- Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.
- Fully assemble before operating.
- Operate the cleaner only at the voltage specified on a data plate on the back of the cleaner.
- Do not use it outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not allow it to be used as a toy. Not intended for use by children aged 12 and under. Close supervision is necessary when used near children. To avoid injury or damage, keep children away from the product, and do not allow children to place fingers or other objects into any openings.

LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES
The battery must be collected, recycled, or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. The EPA-certified RBRC Battery Recycling Seal on the lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery indicated Techtronic Industries, a corporate affiliate of Dirt Devil., is voluntarily participating in an industry program to collect and recycle these batteries at the end of their useful life when taken out of service in the United States or Canada.
The RBRC program provides a convenient alternative to placing used Li-ion batteries into the trash or the municipal waste stream, which may be illegal in your area. Please visit www.rbrc.org/call2recycle/ for information on Li-ion battery recycling and disposal bans/restrictions in your area. Dirt Devil, involvement in this program is part of our commitment to preserving our environment and conserving our natural resources.
CAUTION:
The battery used in this device may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble, heat above the manufacturer’s maximum temperature limit (60°C/140°F), or incinerate. Dispose of the battery promptly. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dispose of it in fire.
Do not attempt to disassemble the battery or remove any component projecting from the battery terminals. The battery and charger have no user-serviceable parts. Fire or injury may result. Prior to disposal, protect exposed terminals with heavy insulating tape to prevent shorting.
Quick Start
REMOVE FROM CARTON & REVIEW THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL.
PLUG-IN & CHARGE UNIT UNTIL THE CHARGE INDICATOR LIGHT GOES OUT (CHARGING MAY TAKE UP TO 6 HOURS).
Tools
QUICK FLIP™ CREVICE TOOL
Easily clean cracks and crevices.
- Flip the crevice tool out and push in to clean cracks and crevices.
- To store the crevice tool: gently pull the tool away from the dust cup and flip the tool up toward the unit & press down until you feel it lock into place.
OPTIONAL POWERED BRUSH ROLL
Easily clean stairs, upholstery, and more.
- Push powered brush roll into hand vac nozzle to attach.
TIP: When the unit is on, the powered brush roll will be on.
- To remove the powered brush roll, gently pull the tool away from the hand vac.
NOTE:
The powered brush roll has its own motor and a motor protective device: should debris jam the brush roll and stop it from rotation, switch the unit OFF, remove the powered brush roll from the unit, remove the debris jamming the brush roll, and reassemble the powered brush roll. Then wait a few minutes prior to turning the unit ON again.
Filter Removal
- While holding the dirt cup and handle, press the dirt cup release button.
- Remove the dirt cup to access the filter.
- . Remove the filter assembly from the dirt cup & separate the white filter from the filter housing. Tap the filter over a trash can to remove debris. Be sure to also wipe debris from the filter housing.
NOTE: Do not discard the filter or filter housing.
- Put the filter back into the filter housing and place the filter assembly back into the dirt cup. Reassemble the dirt cup to the body, align the bottom first, and rotate up until it clicks.
NOTE:
The filter is rinseable with water. Do not use soap/detergent. Let filter air dry for 24 hours or until completely dry. LUBRICATION The motor is equipped with bearings that contain sufficient lubrication for its lifetime. The addition of lubricant could cause damage. Do not add lubricant to the motor.

During the Warranty Period, We will provide labor and parts, at no cost to you, to correct any such defect in products purchased in the United States, U.S. Military Exchanges, and Canada.

WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
This Warranty does not cover the use of the product in a commercial operation (such as maid, janitorial, and equipment rental services), brush roll, belt, bags, filters, improper maintenance of the product, damage due to misuse, acts of God, nature, vandalism or other acts beyond the control of Royal Appliance Mfg. Co. (“Royal”, “we”), owner’s acts or omissions, use outside the country in which the product was initially purchased, and resales of the product by the original owner.
This warranty does not cover pick-up, delivery, transportation, or house calls. This warranty does not apply to products purchased outside the United States, including its territories and possessions, outside a U.S. Military Exchange and outside of Canada. This warranty does not cover products purchased from a party that is not an authorized retailer, dealer, or distributor of Royal products.
