Unpack
Unpack your Cocoon Voyager Sky Scanner HD Quadcopter and check that you have received all of the components:
- 1 x Cocoon Voyager Sky Scanner HD 4 x Propeller Guards Quadcopter
- 4 x Landing Skids
- 1 × Remote Control
- 8 x Propellers
- 1 x Rechargeable Battery
- 8 × sets of Accessories
- 1 x Balance Charger (pins, caps, and screws)
- 1 x Power Adaptor
- 1 x Instruction Manual (Not pictured
- 1 x Screwdriver
- 1 x Getting Started Guide
- 1 × 720P Camera (Not pictured)
- 1 × 4GB Micro SD Card
- 1 x Warranty Certificate
- 6 x AA Activ Energy Batteries (Not pictured)
Install the Remote Control Batteries
- a. Unscrew and remove the battery cover
- b. Install 4 x AA batteries into the back of the remote control, taking note of the polarity positions indicated
- c. Replace the cover and screw into place
Charge the Skyview HD Quadcopter Battery
- a. Unscrew and open the Skyview HD Quadcopter battery cover and take the rechargeable battery out of the Skyview
- b. Plug the charging adaptor into the power supply. Connect the charger cord end of the socket to the battery socket
- c. Charge the battery for 3 hours
Installing the Landing Skids
- a. Insert the landing skids into the bottom of the Skyview HD Quadcopter as shown
- b. Secure the landing skids with the included screws.
Installing the Propeller Guards
- a. Push the propeller guard into the slot until you hear a ‘click’ sound
- b. Secure the propeller guard with the included screws
Installing the Camera (optional)
- a. Insert the included MicroSD card into the camera
- b. Insert the camera into the gimbal. The latch at the top of the camera mount will lock the camera in place
- c. Slide the gimbal into the base of the Skyview HD Quadcopter.
PLEASE NOTE: The camera needs to face the front of the Skyview HD Quadcopter.
- d. Plug both data cables into the corresponding plugs near the Skyview HD Quadcopter’s on/off switch
Insert the Rechargeable Battery into the Skyview HD Quadcopter
- a. Unscrew and open the battery cover on the Skyview HD Quadcopter and locate the circuit board plug with the red and black wires. You may need to gently pull the wire out if it is not immediately visible
- b. Connect the battery plug to the circuit board plug which is inside the Skyview HD Quadcopter
- c. Gently place the battery and wiring back inside the Skyview HD Quadcopter and close the cover. Screw into place
Pairing the Skyview HD Quadcopter to the remote control
a. Turn the Skyview HD Quadcopter power switch to ON and place it on a flat surface. The LEDs will flash to indicate the Skyview is in pairing mode b. Press the power button on the remote control and you will hear a beep. The remote control will automatically pair with the Skyview and beep again. Once the LEDs on the Skyview are solid, the remote control has successfully paired. If it does not pair, turn the remote off and then on again.
Unlocking Flight Controls
- a. To unlock flight controls, push both the left and right throttles down and away from each other as shown in the image.
First Flight and Auto Hover
- a. After unlocking the flight controls, push the left throttle up to increase the altitude to approximately 5m
- b. Release the throttle and the Skyview HD Quadcopter will hover at this height
- c. Use the left throttle to turn left or right as needed
- d. Use the right throttle to move left, right, forwards, and backward.
Beginner Tips
- Always use the propeller guards and ensure you have plenty of open space to practice
- Never fly the Sky Scanner on windy days
- The best way to know which direction the Sky Scanner is facing is by the colored LEDs on its wings. The red lights will face forwards, while the green lights face backward
- Always keep the Sky Scanner HD Quadcopter in direct line of sight
- Practice unlocking and locking the flight controls to get a feel for take-offs and potentially emergency landings
- You can lock or unlock flight controls by pushing down and outwards or by pushing down and inwards on both control sticks. Choose which is more comfortable for you
- To land, hold the throttle down until the blades slow and COMPLETELY stop. You may need to slightly correct the direction while the Sky Scanner adjusts to the correct altitude Do not fly more than 5m high until you are confident you can control the Sky Scanner
- It is your responsibility to abide by local laws and regulations at all times and keep up to date on any changes. Never fly within 30m of people, 5.5km of airports, or above 120m
