Outdoor Use and Care

Though Magnet RockerTM speakers are water-resistant and able to tolerate splashing water, please review the tips below to get the best performance from your speakers:

  • Magnet RockerTM speakers must only be used outdoors with power outlets or extension cords that are rated for outdoor use.
  • Bring Magnet RockerTM speakers indoors during extreme weather.
  • Please do not place Magnet RockerTM speakers in standing water.
  • Please do not connect the power adapter to a Magnet RockerTM speaker in a wet environment. Make sure the power input, power adapter, and power outlet are all completely dry before making any connections.
  • WARNING: Keep any non-water-resistant devices (phones, music players, etc.) in a dry place where they will not be affected by water and cause a risk of electric shock.

Setup

The Magnet RockerTM features a magnetic back panel which allows you to mount the speaker on metallic surfaces. Also included are two carabiners to hook or hang your Magnet RockerTM speakers in various arrangements. Each Magnet RockerTM speaker includes a small loop fitted to the carabiner which you can use to attach the units to other fixtures. Try using the carabiner to hook a Magnet RockerTM onto your belt loop or backpack strap for easy, hands-free listening on the go.

Charging & Battery Information

For the quickest charging time, power off Magnet RockerTM and use the included micro-USB cable to connect the speaker to a USB power adapter (DC 5V 2A, not included) connected to a power outlet, or your computer (powered on). Operation

Bluetooth Connecting with Magnet RockerTM

Connecting to one speaker:
  • Power on the speaker by holding down the Power button for 2 seconds. Magnet RockerTM will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
  • Navigate to your device’s Bluetooth setup screen, find Magnet Rocker, and connect. When connected, the Bluetooth LED will be lit solid blue. If voice prompts are enabled, you will hear “Bluetooth Connected”.
Tip: We recommend renaming each speaker in your device’s Bluetooth settings so that you can distinguish between the two.
  • Press play on your device’s music player. Press the + and – buttons to adjust volume. Press and hold the + or – buttons to navigate Bluetooth tracks.
  • To disconnect, press and hold the + and – buttons simultaneously. The LED will go from solid to flashing blue and then off. If voice prompts are enabled, you will hear “Bluetooth Disconnected”.
Stereo-LinkTM: pairing two Magnet RockerTM speakers:
  • Power on both Magnet RockerTM speakers.
  • Connect to one Magnet RockerTM speaker using the steps above. This will be the “primary” speaker.
  • Be sure to disconnect any Bluetooth devices from the secondary speaker before attempting to connect to the primary speaker.
  • Press and hold the + and – buttons on the secondary speaker to link to the primary speaker. The Bluetooth LED will flash blue and then change to solid green to indicate that a connection has been established. If voice prompts are enabled, you will hear “Stereo-Link Mode”. These two speakers will now automatically link the next time both are powered on and in range of one another.
  • If you are having trouble linking, disconnect all Bluetooth devices first, and then connect after the speakers have been linked.

Tip: Magnet RockerTM speakers should be within 16’ (5 m) of each other to properly sync. The closer the speakers are, the faster they will sync.

  • To break the link between two speakers, press and hold the + and – buttons once to disconnect the Bluetooth device, and then again to de-link the speakers.

Note: Powering off the primary speaker while in Stereo-LinkTM mode will also power off the secondary speaker.

Connecting an Audio Player with the Aux Input

  • You can also connect an audio player to the Magnet RockerTM speaker by connecting an aux cable to the audio source and then the speaker’s 1/8” (3.5mm) input. If the speaker is in Bluetooth mode, connecting an aux cable will switch the speaker from Bluetooth to Aux mode. The LED will turn solid white to indicate Aux mode. If voice prompts are turned on, you will hear “Auxiliary Mode”.
  • Use the + and – buttons to adjust the speaker’s volume in Aux mode. Note that this volume control is independent of the Aux source’s native volume and volume controls.
  • To exit Aux mode, simply disconnect the aux cable and the speaker will revert to Bluetooth mode.

Troubleshooting

If the unit is not charging: Make sure the micro-USB cable is properly connected to the power input, the power adapter and the power outlet.

If the sound is distorted: Try lowering the volume control of your sound source.

If there is too much bass: Try adjusting the tone or EQ control on your sound source to lower the bass level. This will allow you to play the music louder before clipping (distortion) occurs.

If you cannot connect your audio device to Magnet RockerTM via Bluetooth:

  • Have your audio device (e.g., smartphone or tablet) and Magnet RockerTM speaker as close together as possible while trying to connect. Make sure both the audio device and Magnet RockerTM Speaker are unobstructed by walls, furniture, etc.
  • Reset the Bluetooth connection on Magnet RockerTM speaker to disconnect Magnet
RockerTM speaker from any other audio device and restart the search process. If this does not work right away, power off Magnet RockerTM Speaker and then power it back on. See Bluetooth Connecting with Magnet RockerTM for more information.
  • Reset the Bluetooth connection on your audio device by turning Bluetooth off and back on. You can find this under the Bluetooth menu in the Settings for your phone or other audio device.

If this does not work, and you have connected to Magnet RockerTM Speaker before, find Magnet RockerTM peaker in the list of available or previously connected devices in your audio device’s Bluetooth menu, tap the “gear” or “i” icon located next to it and then select Unpair or Forget this device. Turn Magnet RockerTM speaker off and back on and try pairing again once it reappears in your available devices list.

Note: If Magnet RockerTM Speaker has been paired to another audio device recently that is still within range, you may need to repeat this process with that audio device to fully disconnect.

If you experience audio dropouts while playing music from a Bluetooth device, this may be happening because your unit is trying to link to another speaker. This can occur if you power off a speaker that was linked to your unit or if you have just turned on your unit and it is in Stereo-LinkTM mode. To stop the audio dropouts, exit Stereo-LinkTM mode by doublepressing the Link button. Alternatively, you can wait for your unit to link to another Magnet RockerTM Speaker if there is one within range. If there is a delay in the audio signal between the left and right speakers when linked, break the link by double-pressing the Link button, and pair them again following the instructions in the Stereo-LinkTM: pairing two Magnet RockerTM speakers section. If you would like to stop your speaker from automatically linking when you power it on, make sure you Press and hold the + and – buttons to exit Stereo-LinkTM mode before you power it off.
