Presto Digital AirDaddy Electric Air Fryer Manual
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
To reduce the risk of personal injury or property damage, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions. Improper use may result in bodily injury or property damage.
- Before each use, check both the vent pipe and the vent filter to be certain they are free of any blockage. Remove the filter and clean any debris from both the vent pipe and filter.
- Always check the air vent/cover lock to be sure it moves freely before use.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or cooker body in water or other liquid.
- Do not let children handle or put electrical cords or plugs in their mouths.
- Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, press CANCEL once, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
- Unplug the cord from the unit and outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the unit to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or in the event the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the Presto Factory Service Department for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
Important Cord Information
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Do not use this appliance with an extension cord. Connect the power supply cord to a 120VAC electrical outlet only.
Important Fryer Guidelines
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- To ensure proper cooking and air circulation, do not fill the basket more than ¾ full. Overfilling could prevent the basket assembly from sliding into the air fryer or result in food being sheared off.
- This air fryer is not suitable for preparing food with a high-liquid content, such as soups and sauces, and should not be used to boil water.
- The timer will continue to count down, the motor will continue to run, and the element will continue to heat when the basket assembly is removed.
How to Use the Digital Touch Screen
Once the air fryer is plugged in, there will be an audible signal and the display (Fig. B) will light up briefly. The unit will then go into standby mode and the power button will illuminate. The buttons on the air fryer are designed to be touch sensitive. Very little pressure is required to press them. A light touch is recommended.
Touch the power button and the default time (15 minutes) and temperature (350°) will be displayed. You can use this setting and the unit will automatically turn on in 4 to 5 seconds, or you can select one of the presets by touching the food icon on the display. The preset time and temperature for that food will appear on the display and the unit will automatically turn on in 4 to 5 seconds. You can manually set or adjust the time and temperature at any point, even after the cooking cycle has started.
To manually adjust the time or temperature, touch the arrow buttons. To rapidly change the time and temperature, hold down the buttons. You can set the time from 1 to 60 minutes and the temperature from 150° to 400°. The unit will automatically use the set time and temperature after a few seconds.
How to Use
Check the rubber pads on the bottom of the air fryer base before each use to be sure they are free of oil or other debris. If needed, wipe with a warm, soapy cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Position the air fryer on a clean, dry, level, and stable surface in the center of the countertop, away from combustible materials. Always make sure the air fryer and cord are out of reach of children.
- Do not block the vents on the back of the air fryer. This disrupts the airflow, affects the final cooking results, and may cause the fryer to overheat.
- Remove the basket assembly from the air fryer by firmly grasping the basket handle, pulling it toward you, and then sliding the assembly out of the unit. Place it on the countertop. Do not fill the pan with oil or any other liquid. Never use the basket assembly without the basket in it.
- Fill the basket up to ¾ full with food. Do not overfill.
- Slide the basket assembly back into the air fryer. Plug the cord into a 120VAC electrical wall outlet only.
- Touch the power button. There will be an audible signal and the unit will automatically turn on in 4 to 5 seconds. You can manually set or adjust the time and temperature at any point or select one of the food presets, even after the cooking cycle has started. Refer to the temperature and time recommended in the recipe or the Cooking Guide on pages 9 and 10. It is normal for steam to escape around the air fryer during cooking.
Care and Cleaning
- After the air fryer has cooled completely, carefully slide the basket assembly out of the air fryer. Separate the basket from the assembly following the instructions in the “Before First Use”.
- Wash the entire basket assembly (the pan and basket) in warm, soapy water. For any stuck food residue, it will be helpful to soak the basket in hot, soapy water before cleaning. Rinse and dry thoroughly. A brush may be needed to thoroughly clean residue from the basket. Do not use steel wool scouring pads or abrasive kitchen cleaners. It is not recommended that any part of the air fryer be washed in the dishwasher.
- The outside surface of the air fryer can be wiped clean with a moist cloth. Do not use steel wool scouring pads or abrasive kitchen cleaners. Never immerse the air fryer or plug in water or other liquid.
- Once the air fryer has been cleaned, the cord can be wrapped and secured on the tab located on the back of the unit for convenient storage.
- Any maintenance required for this product, other than normal household care and cleaning, should be performed by the Presto Factory Service Department.
