Safety and Compliance
- Please read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions manual must be included.
- The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
- For indoor use only.
- Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.
- Lay out the cable in such a way that no unintentional pulling or tripping over it is possible.
- The product is suitable for moderate climates only.
- Naked flame sources, such as candles, must not be placed near the product.
- Unplug the product while it is not in use.
- Make sure not to squeeze, bend or in any way damage the cable
- The maximum ambient temperature during use of the product must not exceed 95°F (35°C).
WARNING During cleaning or operation do not immerse the electrical parts of the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.
WARNING Listening to audio at excessive volumes can cause permanent hearing damage. Use as low a volume as possible.
Before First Use
- Carefully remove all packaging materials and retain for future use.
- Check for transport damages.
Setup
- Connect the Micro-USB plug of the cable to the microphone and the USB-A plug to your computer.
Configuration on Windows®
NOTICE This product is a Plug-and-Play device and does not require any driver installation.
- A pop-up notification will appear to signal that your computer is installing the drivers for the microphone.
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and sound > Sound > Playback and make sure that a green tick appears next to Speaker.
NOTICE The microphone is not equipped with a built-in speaker. In order to output the sound, an external speaker or headphones must be connected to the microphone via the 3.5 mm jack.
- Go to Recording (same window) and make sure that a green tick appears next to Microphone.
Configuration on Mac OS®
NOTICE This product is a Plug-and-Play device and does not require any driver installation.
- Go to System Preferences > Sound > Input and select USB Microphone.
Angle Adjustment
- To modify the angle at which the microphone rests, loosen the knobs on the support arms by turning them counterclockwise.
- Set the microphone at the desired angle and tighten the knobs again by turning them clockwise.
Height Adjustment
- The stem of the microphone can be extended up to 1.5 in (40 mm).
- Loosen the collar on the stem by turning it in a counter-clockwise direction, set the microphone at the desired height and tighten the collar again by turning it in a clockwise direction.
Operation
Polar Patterns
- Use the Recording Mode Key to select the desired recording mode (polar pattern).
- When a recording mode (polar pattern) is selected, the corresponding Recording Mode Indicator lights up blue.
Cardioid Mode
- Cardioid mode records sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone and dismisses unwanted ambient sounds.
- Ideal for recording podcasts, talks, or game streaming.
Omnidirectional Mode O
- Omnidirectional mode picks up sound from all directions.
- Ideal for situations in which you want to capture the full unadulterated sound of a space, without aiming at any particular sound source.
Bidirectional Mode 8
- Bidirectional mode records mainly sound coming from the front and the rear of the microphone. It is less sensitive to sound coming from the sides.
- Ideal for capturing the sound of a single musical instrument, or recording an interview between two people.
Stereo Mode
- The stereo mode uses both the left and right channels, and is ideal for capturing a realistic rich stereo field.
- Ideal for recording more than one instrument at the same time.
Mute button and LED indicator
- Press the button to prevent the microphone from recording sound.
- The Mute LED Indicator lights up red when the microphone is muted and blue when is active.
Real Time Audio Feedback
This microphone features a 3.5-mm jack that allows you to plug your headphones/earphones in and get real-time feedback on the quality of the recording.
WARNING Turn the VOLUME control down before plugging in headphones/earphones.
Tips
- Aim the microphone toward the desired sound source (such as speaker, singer, or instrument) and away from unwanted sources.
- Place the microphone as close as practical to the desired sound source.
- Work close to the microphone for extra bass response.
- Use only one microphone to pick up a single sound source.
- Place microphones as far as possible from reflective surfaces.
- Do not cover any part of the microphone grille with your hand, as this will adversely affect microphone performance.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Disconnect the product from power source before cleaning.
- During cleaning do not immerse the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.
- Clean the product with a dry lint-free cloth. Do not allow any water or other liquids enter the product’s interior.
- Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning. Storage
- Store in a cool and dry conditions away from children and pets, ideally in original packaging.
- Avoid any vibrations and shocks.
