  • Press ONCE to display the high alarm temperature setting.
  • Press TWICE to display the low alarm temperature setting.
  • Press THREE TIMES to display the current temperature reading.

When the thermometer is sounding an alarm, press this button ONCE to turn it off. However, the High-Alarm or Low-Alarm will still flash until the temperature goes back to normal or the Low-Alarm function is turned off.

Set-Up

Battery Installation: Remove the battery compartment cover located on the rear of the unit and remove the insulation strip from the battery compartment. Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment. Replace the battery cover. The unit will beep and all segments of the LCD will be activated.

Switching between Fahrenheit and Celsius: To change the temperature display scale from Fahrenheit F) to Celsius (oC) and back, slide the o C/o F button located on the rear of the unit.

Operation

Programming the Alarms

To reset the high alarm temperature setting and low alarm temperature setting, follow the instructions below. 

  • High Alarm Temperature Setting
  • From the main display screen:
    Press the HIGH/LOW key ONCE, then press the MODE/RESET key to enter the High Alarm temperature setting mode. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the temperature accordingly.
    Press the MODE/RESET key ONCE to confirm the setting.
  • Low Alarm Temperature Setting
  • From the main display screen:
    Press HIGH/LOW key TWICE, then press MODE/RESET key to enter the Low Alarm temperature setting mode. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the temperature accordingly.
    Press the MODE/RESET key ONCE to confirm the settings.

By default, the low and high alarms should be audible. To turn ALERT ON/OFF follow the instructions below : 

  • Audible High Alarm Setting
    To make sure that the high temperature alarm is audible, press HIGH/LOW key ONCE (to activate the HI-SET on the screen). Then press the ALERT ON/OFF key ONCE to activate the HIGH-alarm beeping sound. Press AGAIN to deactivate
  • Audible Low Alarm Setting
    To make sure that the low-temperature alarm is audible, press the HIGH/LOW key TWICE (to activate the LOW-SET on the screen). Then press the ALERT ON/OFF key ONCE to activate the LOW-ALARM beeping sound.Traceable Thermometer alarm Timer fig 5
    Press AGAIN to deactivate.
    For an activated Hi-alarm and Lo-alarm buzzer, the display will indicate Hi-Alarm and Lo-Alarm as shown :

To Use

  • Once the Alarm Thermometer has been programmed, place the temperature sensor (in a glycol bottle) in the location to be monitored, such as inside a refrigerator or freezer. Attach the thermometer to the door of the unit with a magnet on the back of the thermometer, or place it on a table or shelf where it can be easily seen and heard.
  • The thermometer displays the internal temperature of the unit being monitored, as well as the maximum and minimum temperatures reached. The thermometer maximum and minimum readings reflect the highest and lowest temperatures since the battery was inserted or since the RESET button was last pressed.
  • If the temperature measurement rises above or falls below the set temperature range, the alarm will sound. To silence the alarm, press the ALERT ON/OFF button.
  • Set the high and low alarm temperature limits above and below the refrigerator/freezer operating temperature to prevent false alarms. Refrigerators are designed to run between 2-8 °C (36-46°F) while freezers run below -15 °C (5 °F).

Troubleshooting

  • Displays ‘NP’
    The temperature sensor is not installed correctly.
  • Display screen not working
    Make sure the battery is installed correctly. Battery may need to be replaced.
  • “Low battery” indicator flashing
    Battery may need to be replaced.

Care & Maintenance

  • Do not disassemble the product, as product damage may result.
  • Store the product where it will not be exposed to direct sunlight, dust or high humidity.
  • Do not wash or expose the product to water or other liquids.
  • Clean the product by wiping with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Never use volatile or abrasive liquids or cleaners to clean the product.
  • Do not drop the product or subject it to sudden shock or impact.

ACCURATE AND RELIABLE

Range is –58 to 158°F and –50 to 70°C with a resolution of 1° and accuracy of ±1°C.Ten-foot micro-cable permits refrigerator doors to close on it.

BOTTLE PROBE

Solid-state probe eliminates mercury contamination in refrigerators. Probe is sealed in a miniature bottle (1 x 2-1/2 inches) filled with nontoxic glycol. Solution is GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Eliminates concerns about contact with food or drinking water.

TRACEABLE® CERTIFICATE

Multi-point calibration on an individually-numbered Traceable® Certificate which assures accuracy from our ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (1750.01) calibration laboratory accredited by A2LA.  It indicates traceability of measurements to the SI units through NIST or other recognized national measurement institutes (NMI) that are signatories to the CIPM Mutual Recognition Agreement. Supplied: Traceable® Certificate, flip-open stand, wall mounting, hook and loop tape, and magnetic strips.

Repair services have a limited warranty period of 3 months against defects in materials and workmanship. SUMMIT shall, at its option either repair or replace hardware products that prove to be defective, if a notice to that effect is received within the warranty period.
