Important Safety Instructions

1. ALWAYS turn off and unplug this product immediately after using it.
2. DO NOT use it while bathing.
3. DO NOT place or store the product where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. The appliance should always be placed on a firm, flat, waterproof, and heat-resistant surface. Be sure the appliance is in a stable position and the power cord is out of the way to prevent the appliance from being tipped over.
4. DO NOT place in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. DO NOT reach for a product that has fallen into the water. Unplug immediately.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons.

1. The product should never be left unattended when plugged in.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by, on, or near invalids. Keep out of reach of children.
3. Use this product only for its intended use as described in this manual. DO NOT use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
4. NEVER operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged or dropped into water.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
6. NEVER block the air openings and vents of the product or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air openings and vents may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and other materials.
7. NEVER drop or insert any object into any opening or vent.
8. Unplug this product before filling it. Fill (reservoir) with water only unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer. DO NOT overfill. DO NOT fill with a mask installed. Only pour water directly into Water Reservoir.
9. The appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a safety feature. This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature.

Vicks VapoPads Vicks VapoPads are designed to work with your Steam Inhaler to provide soothing vapors to complement your steam therapy efforts. The Steam Inhaler accepts up to two Vicks VapoPads. The Vicks Steam Inhaler provides a steady flow of warm, moist air directly to the nose and throat for temporary relief from nasal, sinus, and chest congestion, coughs, and parched throat.

Using Your Personal Steam Inhaler

1. Fully unravel the cord. Failure to do so could cause overheating and possible fire hazards. DO NOT use extension cords or power strips. Place Inhaler on a flat, stable surface for use.
2. Unlock the Top Housing from the Base by twisting the Top Housing counterclockwise. When fully unlocked, thearrow on the Top Housing will align with the unlocksymbol on the Base. Lift the Top Housing straight up and set it aside.
   
3. Fill Water Reservoir with up to 2.5 tablespoons (40 mL) of cool tap water. DO NOT fill the above Heating Element. Use with water only. DO NOT add any essential oils, medication, or inhalant liquids such as Vicks VapoSteam or Kaz Inhalant, to the Water Reservoir. An unsafe condition may result if anything is added to the water.
4. Place the Top Housing on the Base and twist clockwise to lock. When fully locked, you will feel a click and the arrowon the Top Housing will align with the locksymbol on the Base.

5. Place Mask on Top Housing and gently push down to ensure Mask is secure.
   CAUTION: NEVER move, lift, shake, or tilt the Inhaler while it is in use or while it contains hot water. DO NOT remove the Mask or Top Housing after turning ON the Inhaler. Steam is produced by boiling water; tilting or shaking the unit can cause water to spill and possibly burns.
6. Connect the cord to an electrical outlet. DO NOT use an extension cord or power strip. Press the On/Off Switch to the ON position. The Indicator Light will illuminate.
7. The Steam Inhaler will take approximately 6 minutes to begin making steam. Use caution, the Water Reservoir and water will become hot.
8. Place your face over the Mask. DO NOT rest your face on the Mask. Breathe normally through your nose and mouth, inhaling steam into your nasal and throat passages. Continue treatment for five to fifteen minutes.

Using Vicks VapoPads

Your Vicks Steam Inhaler can be used with Vicks VapoPads, to provide up to 8 hours of soothing vapors. One free sample of the menthol VapoPad is included with your device. To use your unit with scent pads, ensure that the unit is OFF and follow these instructions:

1. Gently slide out the VapoPad Tray from the back of the Top Housing. Note: Only slide Tray out. DO NOT attempt to detach the Tray from the Top Housing.
2. Open the VapoPad sachet by tearing the notch on the padded bag. DO NOT touch the pad with your hands. If the pad is touched, DO NOT rub your face or eyes as it may cause irritation.
3. Insert Vicks VapoPad with the angled end at the front of the tray. Up to two scent pads can be inserted, one in each slot of the VapoPad Tray. Push VapoPad Tray in to close.

NOTE:
DO NOT operate Steam Inhaler if VapoPad Tray is missing or not secured.

VapoPads Precautions:

• Not recommended for infants under 10 lbs (4.5 kg).
• For children between 10-22 lbs (4.5-10 kg ) do not use more than 2 pads in a 24-hour period.

Scent Pad Ingredients: VSP-19 Series: Eucalyptus Oil, Menthol, Glycol, Cedar Leaf Oil & Others.

Care and Cleaning

CAUTION:
ALWAYS disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet and let the Steam Inhaler cool down for at least 20 minutes before cleaning..

After Each Use

1. Remove the Mask and Top Housing and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
2. Replace the Top Housing and Mask; store in a cool, dry place.

Weekly Maintenance

1. Remove Mask and Top Housing.
2. Pour 2.5 tablespoons (40mL) of undiluted distilled white vinegar into the Water Reservoir and let sit for 10 minutes.
3. Empty the distilled white vinegar and rinse out Water Reservoir with fresh, clean tap water. Use caution to not let water get into the electrical areas.
4. Dry the Water Reservoir and Base with a clean cloth or paper towel.
5. Wash the Mask with mild soap and warm water then carefully rinse off all soap with fresh, clean tap water. Dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
6. Replace Top Housing and Mask. Store in a cool, dry place.
7. To clean the VapoPad Tray, wet the tip of a cotton swab and wipe the slots.

NOTE:

The Top Housing is dishwasher safe. DO NOT place it in the bottom rack of the dishwasher. DO NOT attempt to dissemble the Top Housing.

After Long Periods of Non-Use
If you haven’t used your Steam Inhaler for two weeks or longer, follow the Weekly Maintenance Instructions before the next use.

Condition of Sale
As a condition of the sale, the purchaser assumes responsibility for the proper care and use of this appliance in accordance with our printed instructions. The purchaser or user must judge for himself or herself when to use it and the length of use.
