Note: The Scroll Wheell only works under the operating systems listed above. If you use the mouse under a different operating system, the mouse may either not work or lose its enhanced features.
Instructions:
Battery Installation
The WM289 optical mouse uses two AA battery (not included).
- Open the battery cover. Insert the batteries into the compartment, ensuring they correspond with the polarity markings.
- Close the battery cover. Switch on the WM289 by adjusting the power switch underneath the mouse. Switch it to the left, LED indicator will turn off, switch it to the right, LED indicator will turn on. The blue LED power indicator at the top of the mouse will be light up.
Note: Make sure that the polarity of the batteries is correct. The positive (+) and negative (-) ends of each battery must match the positive (+) and negative (-) markings in the battery housing.
DPI switch:
- The mouse supports 800DPI, 1200DPI,1600DPI, 2400DPI, 3200DPI, 4800DP|(default DPI: 1200)
- To switch to either setting, press the “DPI +” button on the top of the mouse once to upgrade the DPI, the LED light will flash each time. When DPI reaches 4800DPI, the LED will not flash if the “DPI +” button is pressed again. Click the “DPI -” button on the top of the mouse once to downgrade the DPI, the LED light will flash each time. When DPI reaches 800, the LED will not flash if the “DPI -” button is pressed again.
12-Month Battery Life of Tecknet WM389 Wireless Mouse:
The mouse consumes little power and offers a long battery life of up to 12 months without changing battery. However, the actual battery life may vary based on user and computing conditions.
Low Power Indicator:
The mouse is equipped with low power indicator. When the battery power gets low during the period of use, the red indicator under the DPI button will flash. Please replace the battery.
Note: We recommend you to use AA alkaline dry cell battery.
Reconnection:
There is a connection code for this mouse. High tempera- tures, electro-magnetic fields or vibration may influence the code signal and the mouse may need to be reconnected.
- Ensure the battery voltage is correct; if the voltage is low, replace the batteries.
- Press the Left click button + Scroll Wheell to reconnect.
- Unplug the Nano receiver and plug into the USB port again.
Attention:
- To maximize battery life, it’s recommended to use the mouse on a white or light color surface. As the mouse might not work smoothly on some special surfaces, such as smooth, dark or black, reflecting and 3D mouse pads surfaces.
- If not used, the mouse will drop into auto-sleep mode within 10 minutes. Press any key or move the mouse to re-activate the mouse.
- Do not use the mouse on a glass or mirrored surface, as these surfaces will cause the mouse to fail temporarily.
- Avoid using the mouse on a metal surface. Metals, such as iron, aluminium or copper, shield the radio frequency transmission and may slow down the mouse cursor response time or cause the mouse to fail temporarily.
- If your PC has a metal case that contains aluminum or magnesium, use the mouse by the side of the PC. The display panel may interfere with the radio frequency if you use the mouse directly in front of the PC.
