IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
- READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE HOT SHOT® UNIT.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or ears.
- To protect against fire or electrical shock, do not put a cord, plug, or appliance in water or any other liquid. This may cause personal injury or damage to the product.
- Close supervision is necessary when the HOT SHOT® unit is used by or near children or incapacitated persons.
- Unplug the cord from the wall outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner.
- The use of attachments not recommended or sold by Sunbeam may cause fire, electrical shock, or injury.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or countertop or touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
- Do not use it outdoors or for commercial purposes.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when using an appliance containing hot liquids.
- Do not use this appliance for other than intended use.
- Scalding may occur if the lid is lifted during the heating cycle.
- Do not leave this appliance unattended while in operation.

To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug fits a polarized outlet only one way; if the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

SE INSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIC CORD
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord. Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, observe the following:
- The extension cord must be rated at no less than 15 Amps, 120 Volts.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
USING YOUR HOT SHOT® UNIT VERY IMPORTANT:
Add water to the heating chamber BEFORE PLUGING the hot water dispenser into an outlet, especially the first time the unit is used and whenever the unit has been exposed to freezing temperatures.
OPERATING STEPS
- Before first use, wash the heating chamber and lid with a damp, soapy cloth and rinse well. DO NOT IMMERSE UNIT.
- Use the hot water dispenser to HEAT WATER ONLY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HEAT ANY OTHER LIQUID OR FOOD IN THIS UNIT.
- Pour the amount of water you wish to heat and use up immediately (up to 16 fluid ounces – 475 ml.) into the heating chamber. DO NOT OVERFILL HEATING CHAMBER. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 16 FL. OZ. (475 ml). (Refer to Figure 1)
- Plug into 120 Volt outlet.
- Close the cover and press the ON button on the top of the unit. (Refer to Figure 2) NOTE: The auburn light will be on while the water is heating and will turn off when the water is ready to dispense.

- When the auburn light turns off, press the DISPENSE lever on the front of the unit to fill the cup or bowl with heated water. (Refer to Figure 3) DRAIN THE UNIT COMPLETELY AFTER EACH USE.
- Simply mix and your favorite food or beverage is ready for your enjoyment! NOTE: If a second cup of water is to be heated immediately, be sure the unit is completely drained, then add the desired amount of COLD water. The cold water will help cool the tank and allow the reset of the thermostat.

CAUTION: Always test temperature before feeding children or infants as contents will be hot.
CARE AND CLEANING
CLEANING
Unplug unit before cleaning. After unit is cool, wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth, and then dry it with a soft towel. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads. DO NOT IMMERSE THE HOT WATER DISPENSER IN WATER. IMPORTANT: After continual use, a lime deposit may accumulate in the heating chamber causing longer heating cycles. The rate at which the deposit forms will vary depending on the hardness of the water used and the frequency with which the unit is used. To remove the deposit:
- Unplug the cord from the outlet.
- Add a mixture of 1/2 water and 1/2 white distilled vinegar solution (8 fluid oz. – 235 ml each) to the heating chamber and let it remain in the heating chamber until the deposit is removed. Drain the cleaning solution by pressing down on the DISPENSE lever. DO NOT HEAT THE VINEGAR SOLUTION.
- Run one or two freshwater cycles to remove any residual cleaning solution.
STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE
- Unplug and empty the hot water dispenser when not in use.
- Store the hot water dispenser on a dry countertop or tabletop.
- When not in use, the electric cord should be coiled and stored in the area provided in the hollow base of the hot water dispenser.
- Route the cord through the “T” slot in the back of the housing to prevent the unit from resting on the cord during operation.
- Other than the recommended cleaning, no further user maintenance should be necessary.

DISPENSER. NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS ARE INSIDE.
One-Year Limited Warranty
Jarden Consumer Solutions in the US and Sunbeam Corporation doing business as, Sunbeam Products, Inc., Jarden Consumer Solutions in Canada warrants that for a period, doing business as, (Canada) Limited of one year from the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship. Sunbeam, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component.
If the product is no longer available, a replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty. This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of the initial retail purchase and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance. Sunbeam dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling Sunbeam products do not have the right to alter, modify, or in any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair, or alteration by anyone other than Sunbeam or an authorized Sunbeam service center. Further, the warranty does not cover Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
What Are the Limits on Sunbeam’s Liability?
Sunbeam shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express, implied, or statutory warranty or condition. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty. Sunbeam disclaims all other warranties, conditions, or representations, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
Sunbeam shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse of, or inability to use the product including incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages or loss of profits, or for any breach of contract, fundamental or otherwise, or for any claim brought against the purchaser by any other party.
Some provinces, states, or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from province to province, state to state, or jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
