SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

Polarized Plug:
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, the plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not try to modify the plug in any way.

Short Cord Instructions:
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

  • Lightly coat waffle plates with cooking spray.
  • Position on a stable, secure, dry, and level work surface away from the edge.
  • Unattended waffles may burn therefore do not use the appliance near or below combustible materials such as curtains. Never use below-wall cupboards or shelves.
  • Before connecting to a power source, make sure your supply voltage is the same as the one indicated on the appliance. Connect the plug to a suitable power outlet and make sure that the power cord does not overhang the work surface.
  • When you first use your waffle maker, there may be a slight odor as the hot plates warm up for the first time. This is quite normal and not a cause for concern. To remove the odor, simply operate your waffle maker for the first time and please discard the first waffle made.

Operating Instructions

  1. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet. The Red light should be on, indicating the appliance is heating.
  2. Set the desired temperature. When the Green light is on the appliance is ready to make waffles. For light brown waffles select a lower temperature, for dark brown waffles select a higher temperature.
  3. Pour 1/3 – 1/2 cup of batter into the center of the waffle plate. Close lid quickly otherwise waffles may not become evenly browned.
  4. Depending upon the batter and the temperature selected, baking time will be from 2-5 minutes.
  5. Once the waffle is ready, remove it by gently loosening the edges with a heat-resistant spatula. Never use metal utensils as they may damage the nonstick coating.

Care and Cleaning Instructions

  1. When finished baking, remove the plug from the outlet. Leave the top lid open so the waffle plates cool.
  2. You may clean the waffle plates by simply brushing the crumbs from the grooves on the plates. You may also clean the waffle plates by wiping them with dampness to prevent batter or oil build-up.
  3. Wipe outside with a soft, damp cloth after the appliance has cooled.
  4. Never use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads.
  5. WARNING! Never submerge the appliance in water.

Waffle Making Tips

  • The waffle mixture should be fairly thick, but fluid enough to pour from a spoon.
  • After baking, do not pile waffles on top of each other, otherwise, they will become soggy.
  • If you prefer crispy waffles, substitute the milk with water. Milk makes waffles softer and darker in color. Use a lower heat setting.
  • Use good quality flour or waffle mix.
  • Always mix the batter thoroughly.
