CHARGING THE SPEAKER MICROPHONE

To power the amplifier, this speaker microphone has an internal rechargeable battery pack which must be
charged prior to operation, and must be recharged regularly. A fully charged battery should provide greater than 40 hours of continuous operation before needing to be recharged. However, operating time can vary depending on usage and the condition of the battery pack. Recharge the battery regularly. When the battery is low the status LED will light red to inform the user.

TO CHARGE THE SPEAKER MICROPHONE

  1.  Plug the charge cable into any powered USB outlet, such as an AC wall charger, and then into the charge jack on the bottom of the speaker microphone.
  2.  Once the charging process has begun, the LED indicator on the bottom of the speaker microphone will show a constant red light.
  3.  Typical charge time is approximately five hours. Actual charge time will vary depending on several factors including the battery’s charge state, condition, and age.
  4.  When the battery is fully charged the LED indicator on the side of the speaker mic will turn off.
  5.  Disconnect the charger from the adapter when charging is completed.

Charging Cautions:

  •  Do not use a wall charger or charge cable that appears to be damaged.
  • Do not tamper with or modify the speaker microphone or charger.
  •  Always disconnect the speaker microphone from the smartphone when charging

POC APP SETUP

Just connect the MICROPHONE kit to your smart device and sign into your POC app. On some apps you may need enable the “headset” button function in the app’s settings menu. All of the following apps work with the MICROPHONE including Zello, Wave Communicator, KODIAK Networks app (such as AT&T EPTT and Verizon PTT Plus), ES Chat, ZINC, VOXER and many more. As long as your POC app supports using the Headset Hook button for Push-to-Talk or Toggle-to-Talk, the MICROPHONE should work!

  •  You can make a PTT Over Cellular call by pressing the holding the Smart PTT Button on the speaker microphone.
  • You can make or take a phone call by using the controls on the screen of your smart device.
  • You can answer an incoming phone call, or hang up a call in progress, by pressing the Hook button on the speaker microphone.
  •  You should speak slowly and clearly with the microphone positioned approximately 3-6 inches away from your mouth.
  • You can press and hold the Hook button on the speaker microphone to launch your smart device’s voice assistant feature.

OPTIONAL EARPHONES

Although the speaker microphone has a built-in speaker for listening to received calls, some users may prefer to use a listen-only earphone for enhanced privacy. The accessory jack on the speaker microphone will accept any mono earphone with a 3.5 mm audio plug.PRYME makes a variety of listen-only earphones in different styles that will work with the speaker microphone.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The Smart PTT Button on my Speaker Microphone isn’t working. First, make sure that the speaker microphone is fully plugged into the smartphone’s accessory jack and that receive audio is coming through the microphone speaker. If no audio is heard the microphone may need to be recharged before use. Next, make sure that you are signed into your POC app, that you have an active cellular data or WiFi connection, and have selected the contact you wish to speak with in your POC app.  The exact steps for doing this will vary from app to app.  In the unlikely event that this occurs, press and release the Hook button on the speaker microphone. This should restore normal operation.
