Polaris 3900 Tune-Up Kit Pressure Pool Cleaner User Manual
Tools Needed:
- Philips #2 screwdriver
- Small flathead screwdriver
Disassemble Cleaner
- Press the quick disconnect button to release the cleaner bag from the feed hose (Figure 1).
- Remove the feed hose from the cleaner.
- Twist the collar to remove the cleaner bag (Figure 2)
- Remove the Sweep Hose by twisting the nut to release it from the hose or by removing the Sweep Hose attachment clamp.
- Set the cleaner on its side on the double wheels.
- Loosen the three (3) screws on the underside of the cleaner (Figure 4). Tilt the cleaner over and allow screws to drop out.
- Remove the bottom housing.
- Set cleaner on its double side wheels and remove three (3) screws in location marked “A” water management system assembly (Figure 5)
- Remove the water management system with the rear housing attached by pulling straight out (Figures 6 and 7).
- Remove two (2) screws (Figure 8) to detach and remove the top housing (Figure 9).
NOTE: The left screw (1) is deeply recessed. To retrieve the screw after loosening, turn the cleaner over and it will fall out.
- Set cleaner on its single-side wheel. Insert a small flathead screwdriver under the hubcap notch to pry hubcaps from both double-sided wheels. (Figure 10.)
- Remove screws from the center of each wheel (Figure 11) and slide the wheel off to remove them (Figure 12). NOTE: Wheel screws are smaller in diameter than body screws. Set these screws apart from other screws to prevent mixing.
- Turn the cleaner over and set it on its double-wheel side.
- Remove the tire from the single-side wheel (Figure 13). Pull the lip of the tire back and peel off gradually. Set aside to replace later.
- Remove the hubcap from the single-side wheel using the flathead screwdriver and set aside.
Install the Tune-Up Kit
- Remove the up kit from the box.
- Loosen the three (3) screws from the underside of the Tune-Up Kit (Figure 15). Tilt cleaner over and allow screws to drop out.
- Remove the bottom housing (Figure 16)
- Slide the top housing over the feed pipe (Figure 17).
- Set the Tune-Up Kit on its side and replace two (2) screws to secure the top housing (Figure 18).
- Align the water management system and rear housing assembly with the cleaner body (Figure 19). Ensure that the O-ring is still attached to the pipe and is not kinked or pinched (Figure 20).
- Guide the water management system with the rear housing canopy attached to the feed pipe tube. Push in firmly aligning the notches of the rear housing into the lip of the top housing. Check that the top housing lip is correctly aligned over the rear housing (Figure 21).
- Replace three (3) water management system screws (Figure 22).
- Attach new bottom housing (gray) by replacing three (3) recessed screws (Figure 23). NOTE: Squeeze the top and bottom housing pieces together firmly as you tighten screws to ensure both pieces remain aligned and create an even seam in the cleaner body.
- Replace the hubcap on a single side wheel. Press until it snaps into place.
- Replace the tire on a single side wheel. Thread the lip of the tire around the bottom of the wheel and work the tire gradually around the wheel. Ensure the lips on both sides of the tire are fully threaded over the outside of the wheel.
- Turn cleaner over onto single side wheel. Replace wheels on the double-wheel side. Insert the keyed side of the wheel into the wheel sprocket assembly.
- Rotate the wheel bearing to align the hexagonal notch with the shaft. Press the bearing down firmly. (Figure 24.)
- Replace screws in the center of each wheel.
- Replace the two (2) wheel hubcaps by snapping into place.
- Reconnect the cleaner bag (Figure 25).
- Reconnect the sweep hose (Figure 26).
