Get started
- Plug it intone of the USB ports of your computer. If you are using a desktop PC, it will be better to plug it into the USB ports at the back of computer case instead of those in the front.
- It is a plug &play webcam, so there is no extra driver needed. Please note that there is no icon or message for this webcam after it is successfully installed, but it do work.
- To use it, you may need a third-party software like Skype.

HAVIT makes some really cheap devices like the KB396L, so when my Logitech C920 finally decided to launch computers, the company’s $9 webcam surprised me. Unfortunately, the HAVIT N5086 is not worth the money. price. At just $14 it is a very affordable website from a reputable brand with a great catalog of accessories and accessories. Unfortunately, this webcam doesn’t seem to use HAVIT’s cost-effective yet effective technology. But it’s a simple webcam, which means you can plug it in and start using it right away.
No driver or software issues and it doesn’t take long to open everything. Speaking of which, one of the best things about the N5086 is its packaging. Companies have come a long way in packaging technology over the past decade, and even the lesser known get it right.
While there is something to like about this webcam, there is much to like. The microphone on the N5086 isn’t great, but that’s not surprising as most webcam microphones suck compared to headphones and high-end microphones. A bigger issue is image quality. Not bad, but bad. This is a flaw in the webcam whose purpose is to record the data seen and send it to the PC. Whether you’re on a conference call or talking to your friends, you’ll see what’s best with your smartphone. You also don’t want to use it anywhere near video game streaming. I’ll try to look elsewhere, even $14 I can’t say enough about the price you get. Not everyone has the image quality problem that I have experienced with this unit, which makes the situation worse, but in general, it is not what I expected from HAVIT.
